Ghana’s cocoa regulator, COCOBOD, has announced that Licensed Buying Companies will, from October 1, 2021, switch to the use of electronic weighing scales. Chief Executive, Joseph Boahen Aidoo, told the media that over 44,000 weighing scales have already been procured and distributed to the LBCs. The payment system to aid business transactions among member countries in the Africa Continental Free Trade Area, Pan Africa Payment and Settlement System is undergoing piloting before full implementation. Former President John Mahama has expressed his disappointment with the Electoral Commission (EC)’s refusal to receive the post-2020 electoral reform proposals submitted by the National Democratic Congress (NDC). Speaking in an interview on URA Radio in Bolgatanga, he said the Commission, in refusing to receive the proposals, asked the NDC to rather send the proposals to the IPAC. Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford may not play until the end of October after deciding to have surgery on a shoulder injury. Rashford, 23, had a scan on Tuesday after being hampered by the problem in the latter half of the 2020-21 season.
