The five-member committee set up by President John Mahama to investigate three petitions against the Chief Justice will begin its hearings on Thursday, May 15. The committee is chaired by Supreme Court Justice Gabriel Scott Pwamang and was established in line with Article 146(6) of the 1992 Constitution. A 25-year-old man has been arrested by the police for possessing a cache of ammunition and other suspicious items. A police statement said Yussif Mohammed was apprehended on May 8, 2025 near the Asankare Police barrier. He was arrested with a backpack containing the ammunition and other materials.
